With the assistance of grant aid from Dublin City
Council and the Department of the Environment
Civic Structures Grant repair works have been
undertaken to this building on a phased basis
every summer since 2005. The works undertaken
have included the following exterior works: structural
stabilisation of the rear bowed wall, repairs
to external railings and plinth, repairs to front
door and stone threshold, window repairs, cleaning
of stonework,, roof repair, repair of cast iron
rainwater goods, lime repointing, lime rendering,
damp proofing of basement areas, paving repairs
and garden wall repairs. Interior works included
repair of the very decorative plaster work to the
landing of the first floor return, complete refurbishment
of the main ground floor rooms, including
modifications and restoration of the original
joinery, repairs to fireplaces, paint samples and
subsequent redecoration and re-wiring including
the upgrade of the heating system.
We were involved with all aspects of this work
including liaising with the client, the contractors
and Dublin City Council.
